Prophilo is a stabilised injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) based injectable which helps to treat skin laxity. Profhilo offers one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market. HA is responsible for hydrated youthful skin which starts depleting from our early 20’s. The HA in Profhilo boosts and hydrates the skin as well as remodelling ageing sagging tissue. It is not a dermal filler, it is a bio-remodelling product, which is an injectable moisturiser producing intensive skin laxity remodelling.

Profhilo can be used on patients of all ages. It is especially popular with patients over the age of 30. If you would like to improve the visible signs of ageing such as fine lines, wrinkles, skin laxity or crepeyness, you could be suitable for Profhilo.

During the Profhilo treatment we inject the product using very fine needles in five specific points. Topical anaesthetic cream can be applied 30 minutes prior to treatment, making the treatment easily tolerable and very quick.

Profhilo is especially effective at treating loose skin on the neck, cheek and jowls as well as other areas considered difficult to treat with injectable products such as; forehead, temples, upper arms and hands.

Results from Profhilo can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months depending on your individual reaction and metabolism of the product. Age and lifestyle will also affect the results along with your skins natural ageing process. To keep the skin in excellent condition we recommend our patients return for a single maintenance treatment every 3 months.

As with all injectables there is always a risk of bruising, tenderness and slight swelling in the area, but these will subside after a few hours to a day and are totally natural responses.
There are no long term side effects with Profhilo as it is metabolised by the body and the risk of any allergic reaction is substantially reduced as it contains no synthetic chemicals.

There is no downtime with Profhilo, other than small bumps at the site of injection for 2 to 3 hours. However, it is advisable to avoid alcohol, aspirin or anti-inflammatory medication 24 hours prior to treatment to reduce the risk of bruising. Immediately afterwards it is important to avoid applying makeup, strenuous exercise and hot steam rooms and saunas for at least 24 hours.

The cost per treatment, per area is £350 with two treatments being required initially. The second treatment would be performed at 4-6 weeks. Following this to maintain results a single treatment is recommended every 6 months thereafter.
