Obagi Blue Radiance Skin Peel in Guernsey & Jersey
The Obagi Blue Peel Radiance is a professional-grade chemical peel that targets various skin concerns, including signs of ageing, pigmentation, acne scars and texture irregularities. Part of the Obagi Medical skincare line, it is designed to be quick, minimally invasive and often considered a ‘lunchtime peel’ due to its minimal downtime.
The Blue Peel Radiance contains a blend of 20% Salicylic acid, glycolic acid and lactic acid. This combination of acids exfoliates the outermost layers of the skin, helping to remove dead cells, clear and tighten pores, treat superficial pigmentation, fine lines and acne scars. It provides brighter smoother and more even-toned skin after a single session with results improving over multiple treatments.
Step 1: Skin is cleansed and the Blue Radiance Peel preparation solution is applied to clean, dry skin, allowing the skin to dry completely.
Step 2: The first layer of the Blue Radiance Peel is applied systematically to achieve an even consistency and result. It is normal for patients to feel a mild tingling sensation while the peel solution is applied to the bare skin. The peel solution is left on for around 10-12 minutes after full application of the first layer.
Step 3: Depending on comfort, the patients ability to tolerate treatment and the clinical plan, we may apply an additional layer of peel solution to achieve the desired results.
For those who require a gentle, light peel, just the one layer is applied. If incremental desquamation of the stratum corneum is required, a second layer of the peel is applied.
Second layers are only applied if, after 30-60 seconds, the skin has tolerated the initial layer.
If significant reactions, such as stinging, strong discomfort, erythema or burning is felt after the first 3-5 minutes, we do not add any further layers of solution.
Step 4: Cleansing the skin and removing the Obagi Blue Radiance Peel with Obagi Nu-Derm Cleanser, we ensure all the solution is taken away with gauze, and cold water.
Step 5: Our clinicians will then apply a non-chemical based sunscreen to protect the skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays to prevent pigmentation and sun damage. We recommend Obagi Sun Shield Protection SPF 50.
