A very Merry Christmas from all the team here at Aesthetic Skin Clinic! We want to take this time to say thank you to all our clients, new and old, for your continued support. Whether you have chosen us for your cosmetic surgeries or treatments, or maybe you follow our online content and have booked to see us next year – we appreciate it all.
To commemorate the upcoming new year, we’re stepping back in time and reflecting on 2021. Let’s look at our most popular and impactful content from the past year.
Are You Suffering from ‘Maskne’?
Although 2020 was the year we began wearing masks, our skin was still suffering twelve months later. Our blog on the topic of ‘Maskne’ was a massive hit with people who had found that continuously using a mask was causing flare-ups and irritated skin. With the re-introduction of masks across the nation, our cosmetic skin clinics in Belfast, Jersey, and Guernsey are here to help. We have an extensive range of skincare solutions to treat all kinds of skin concerns, including acne.
Why Do Male Cosmetic Procedures Continue to Rise?
2021 saw significant rises in the number of men interested in cosmetic procedures. We studied this topic several times as we were fascinated and intrigued by the statistics and reasoning behind the increases. We were interested in why male cosmetic procedures continue to rise and discovered that men were more likely to be negatively affected if perceived as older. Discussing this issue helped us spread awareness about the stigma surrounding men and cosmetic procedures. We hope this had a positive effect on men seeking treatment for their insecurities.
Love Island’s Impact on the Cosmetic Treatment Industry
ITV2’s popular dating show Love Island hit our screens again after an 18-month break due to the pandemic. With it came the usual controversies, particularly surrounding the world of cosmetic treatments. In our blog, we tackled the topic and looked into Love Island’s impact on the industry, including its influence on the increased accessibility and normalisation of cosmetic procedures. Whether you love it or loathe it, this season opened up some positive and honest conversations about the female contestant’s reasons for going through with their surgeries and treatments. They claimed they did it for themselves and not for the approval of others – something we feel very strongly about here at Aesthetic Skin Clinic and a message we want to give to all of our clients.
Dermal Fillers and Anti-Wrinkle Injections Banned for Under 18
This year saw significant changes to the cosmetic treatment industry, one of which was the ban on dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections for under 18s. In our article, we discussed what this new law was, why it was implemented, and what effect this will have on cosmetic clinics all over the country. This was just the beginning of the tighter laws and regulations within the industry, and there are plans for even more regulation changes in 2022.
